Story
Hello :)
This page is for St John Ambulance University of Essex LINKS. The money raised through the abseil will go towards their 50th Anniversary First Aid Legacy Project, which aims to train 500 people in life saving skills. This is close to my heart as I have been part of St John Ambulance for eleven years (since the age of 8) and have learnt numerous life saving skills. I believe it is important that everyone has the skills that they might need one day to save a life.
Here's more information about the project:
In 2014, while the University celebrates its 50th anniversary, the St John Ambulance LINKS Society celebrates 10 years of providing first aid training and event cover on campus.
To celebrate we are planning to run many events and projects throughout the year, one of these is the 50th Anniversary First Aid Legacy Project.
This aims to provide essential lifesaving first aid skills and valuable nationally recognized qualifications to 500 individuals from the University's extended community.
We aim to provide these people with the nationally recognized qualification – ‘Essential and basic first aid’.
This course covers emergency life support techniques as well as how to deal with minor and deteriorating conditions in any casualty.
The scope of this project reflects the goals of the 50th Anniversary of the University. It is the aim of the project to enable the training of 500 individuals from across the spectrum of the diverse University community.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The money will go to St John Ambulance University of Essex LINK through the University of Essex Students' Union
