Story

19.04.2010

Wow! Thank you all so much for helping me raise such a fantastic amount! Special thanks to Mr Massarella for getting many of his contacts to sponsor me!!!

Due to all the fantastic donations I have received, I have raised my target to £2100.00 because I think it would be amazing to bring in that extra amount for such a worthy cause. Further donations are still really welcome and appreciated..!

The gig is still going ahead on Thursday, it should be a fantastic evening, so please come along. Cross Kings at Kings Cross, London, 7.30pm onwards.

And all that's left to do after that is run 26.2 miles... Bring it on!!!

Thank you all so much for sponsoring me! I am now at 50% and I'm really hoping to make 100% before the race, it will spur me on further and faster knowing I have already raised the money!

I have my final big run this week - 20 miles and then am reducing my training down to rest up for the big day. I am really looking forward to it, but it is starting to dawn on me just how far the marathon actually is - I'm currently exhausted at mile 15! Fingers crossed the atmosphere onthe day will get me round.

If you fancy supporting me further I have a gig which is taking place on 22nd April 2010 at Cross Kings in Kings Cross. If you would like to come details are on facebook - just search 'Chafing Pavements'.

Thanks again for all donations son far! :-)

Milton Keynes half marathon completed in 01:57:52 very pleased! It wasn't too painful, although I have painful toe nails, but the legs were strong. Really looking forward to upping the mileage and heading towards that marathon day!

Thanks again for all donations - they're so appreciated!!!

The injury is not actually an injury but a case of very unflexible pigeon legs. More practice needed. Milton Keynes half marathon coming up on 7th March - will see how those pigeon legs hold out...

Thanks again for all donations, and for everyone who has bought a cake off me recently!

Help I have an injury! Shin splints mean my training is very sporadic lately, and I have a half marathon race coming up in preparation for the big day! Lets hope some new trainers do the trick in sorting my leg out..! Many thanks to everyone who has made a donation so far! Watch this space for a charity gig night in London town, to help raise funds to get me closer to that £1800 target...

Hello!

After successfully climbing Kilimanjaro this year I feel like I should keep up the momentum and do something equally as crazy next year. So I have decided to try the marathon! And I am very scared.

So please help me in raising money for Refuge - it's a really worthwhile charity that supports women and children in really difficult situations. I have been volunteering on the helpline at Refuge for the past 6 months and have spoken to many women who would benefit hugely from the funds raised. In the UK, two women every week die at the hands of an abusive partner. The money raised will go towards providing support and guidance for women who are experiencing domestic violence and need a way out before it's too late.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now!!!
