Story

On February 23rd 2012, my cousin Helen and I are doing a skydive in aid of Connect and we would love for you to sponsor us! For someone who felt a little peeky at the top of the London Eye this is a MASSIVE feat for me so dig deep please!!!!

Eight years ago, my Uncle Colin (and Helen's Dad) suffered a stroke. From the stroke, Colin was affected by Aphasia, a condition affecting his speech and mobility down one side of his body. Colin was a renouned film and television editor and was hugely successful...even winning an MTV award for his editing skills! As the loud, joker of our family we were all very shocked and upset that this had happened to Colin.

The charity that we are raising money for, Connect - the Communication Disability Network have been invaluable to Colin's rehabilitation and recovery since the stroke. They organise meetings for Colin and his family members to meet other people affected by aphasia and to offer support and advice. Because of Connect, Colin has been able to further pursue his love for media and particularly photography by contributing to Connect's monthly newsletter. Sally, Colin's Connect advisor, has become a friend of the family because of her continued support and kindness so we would really like to give back to her and all the staff who do incredible things for stroke sufferers.

Please please PLEASE donate to this cause as I can assure you that the money will do inspirational things for some truly inspirational people.

Love

Hannah and Helen.
