Hannah's Sheffield Half Marathon for the Sheffield Scanner

Sheffield Half Marathon 2018 · 8 April 2018 ·
Thank you for visiting my Sheffield Half Marathon Just Giving page in support of the Sheffield Scanner.
On 8 April 2018 I’ll be taking part in the Run for All Sheffield Half Marathon as part of the University of Sheffield team.
We’re raising funds for the University’s £2 million campaign to bring an MRI-PET scanning facility to Sheffield, the first of its kind in Yorkshire.
The Sheffield Scanner is a fantastic cause which will advance research into a wide range of conditions and hopefully lead to new treatments which will improve many lives.
As many of you will know, I have type one diabetes - a condition I was diagnosed with six years ago - so supporting causes like this means a lot to me.
The run itself is a huge personal challenge as, since my diagnosis, I’ve been nervous about exercising in case I have hypos. I (somehow) ran a marathon pre-diagnosis in 2009 but this is a much bigger challenge because, as well as training to cover the distance, I’ll also have to learn how to manage my blood sugar.
I’ll be blogging my progress at www.hannahpostles.wordpress.com
