I am raising money in memory of my Dad who died 2 1/2 years ago from Cancer. He was ill for about three weeks when doctors found a cancer on his liver which was highly aggressive. Our family doctor told my husband and I to rearrange our wedding, that was planned for the following June, as Dad had probably only until Christmas to live. We did, but unfortunately Dad died 2 weeks before the wedding.

The night Dad died, a Marie Curie nurse came to sit with Dad so that my Mum and I could get a good night’s sleep. She came to us about 10pm and told us to go to bed and she would watch over him and wake us if we were needed. At 2am she woke us up to say that we should come down to say goodbye to Dad. She made him comfortable and Dad died with dignity. The nurse was fantastic and stayed with us until things were sorted and our immediate family had arrived.

I want to raise money to thank Marie Curie for the help that they gave us and to give something back to them.
