Well, i've done it...no going back now!

9 years ago, the most special little boy came into our world. He was born with a condition called Congenital Melanocytic Naevi, CMN for short. Morgan has a bathing trunk birthmark from the middle of his back down to his thighs and hundreds of smaller ones all over his body.These birthmarks are a type of benign tumour.

This condition affects roughly 1 in 20,000 babies a year, they can have an increased risk of skin cancer and often suffer developmental delay.

Morgan visits Great Ormond Street Hospital for checkups every 6 months, he has had MRI scans, which so far, thankfully, have been clear, he's also had lumps removed and been poked and prodded....all this, with a phobia of needles, so if he can do it, i can trek up and down 24 Lake District  peaks in 24 hours!

Morgan is one of the most laid back children I've ever met, he takes everything in his stride and with the support of this wonderful charity I feel he will grow to be a happy and confident young man with everything to live for, he has already gained so much from cmn family days and activity weekends, he now knows he's 'not the only one'.

Caring Matters Now relies solely on fundraising and donations, which pays for research at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Over £40,000 each year is needed, so if you are able to, please help to continue this vital research.
