My story
I'm running this race for the rabbits & guinea pigs rescued from a large garden centre fire in Oldham in January this year. Over 500 animals died but these guys are the lucky ones that are now in our branch's care.
The female guinea pigs are heavily pregnant & I'm fostering Mouse (the most sickly one) in my home. I've even started a blog about her here: http//diaryofaguineapig.blogspot.com
It will cost the charity hundreds to get them ready for adoption, here's a list to get an idea of cost:
Guinea pig neuter (we need 2) = £40 each
Rabbit neuter (we need 3) = £60 each
Rabbit spay (we need 2) = £70 each
Vet health check (for all 10) = £25 each
VHD Vaccination for rabbits (we need 5) = £25
Myxi Vaccination for rabbits (we need 5) = £20
Boarding (for all 10) = £2 per day, per animal
TOTAL: £875 not including boarding

Our branch is dedicated to helping local animals in need. We take in and rehome over 300 animals per year that have been rescued by RSPCA inspectors. We also run a comprehensive programme of animal welfare promotions and each year assist over 2000 companion animals and their owners.
