Story
"They come, they feed, they learn"
Education is something that we take for granted.
Having clean water and not dying from something like diarrhoeais something we also take for granted.
What do these facts mean to you?
· Around 200 million children in the world are not achieving their full developmental potential due to poverty.
· In western Kenya as many as 1 in 5 school age children suffer from malnutrition and anaemia.
· Malaria causes approximately 214,000 deaths per year in African school children but it is also has profound effects on child development and education and Kenyan school children miss up to 11% of school days because of malaria.
· Around 2,500,000 children in Kenya have lost one or both parents from poverty and AIDS.
So what do we do?
Your donations provide the schools with water, sanitation and provide education to parents and children about reproductive health. The money also goes to creating opportunities for girls to stay in education.
As a group of students we are going out this summer to help with education workshops and building feeding centres. A lot of us are doing different things to raise money- I will be running the Leicester Marrowthon as my personal challenge!
So please donate. You will change the situation of many of these children!
