Story
22 April 2018 - 40,000 people will take to the streets for the London Marathon, one of the most iconic road races in the world.
I'm excited to be leading a team of Penny Appeal runners this year, whilst I look to claim my 5th London Marathon medal. I promised and vowed never to run again after first completing the race in 2012. It's been 5 years since I lost my father, after that horrible car accident in 2013, and my mission to run in his memory continues....
Last year I took on the biggest challenge of my life, completing full marathons in Manchester, Paris, Boston & London in just 21 days. With your help my #Running4Dad campaign helped raise £28,000 and I was fortunate enough to travel to Africa, where we installed a Solar Water well & Power Centre for an extremely poor & needy village there. What a humbling experience it was seeing children, women & the wider community gathering to celebrate the gift of water that was bestowed upon them. My eyes have been opened and I know that I can't do enough to tackle water poverty, but I will never stop trying.
We have a team of runners taking on the London Marathon, and we are fundraising to build deep water wells in Africa. Each well will help transform thousands of lives, giving them a better quality of living, eradicating disease, and giving access to clean water which villagers can drink, clean & cook with, grow their crops and feed their animals. It costs just £4000 to build one deep water well which can help save a village, so every penny you donate will go a long way. Again, I hope to build as many wells as possible in my father's memory. You can donate for yourself, or give in memory of your own loved ones. Either way, your small change, will make a BIG difference.
Please DIG DEEP & help me complete the London Marathon so we can provide the gift of clean water to those who need it most.
