Prostate Cancer Research - Snowdon500 2010 · 22 May 2010 ·

People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments. Research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Combining patient stories and scientific expertise, we fund projects that have a real impact, reducing side-effects, cutting treatment costs and ultimately improving outcomes.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are four members of Harpenden Lions Club, determined to do what we can to beat Prostate Cancer.  One of our Club colleagues has recently been through a horrid episode of treatment for prostate cancer, and we want to ensure that less and less men suffer in future.

Prostate Cancer is the biggest killer of males who die from cancer.  It has had too little attention or support from the public till now.

The Snowdon Charity Challenge 2010 is being organised by Prostate Cancer Research Centre, and endorsed by Lions International.  The four of us, we hope accompanied by many other Lions members, will be climbing Snowdon on Saturday 22 May 2010.  This is a good challenge for us as the total of our ages is 254, hence our team name:  Harpenden Lions 254.
