Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am joining nearly 100 other fundraisers who like me have been inspired to do this event in memory of our friends son, Oscar. Oscar unexpectantly and tragically died nearly 2 years ago. I can still remember seeing him just 2 months before he died, in David and Hannah's garden, smiling and playing with a blow up air guitar. His grandparents said he had not had a good night (he had been at theirs while we all celebrated Hannah reaching her prime in a local pub!). I remember commenting on the fact that he was still giggling and laughing.
No parent should have to go through this, and if you read Hannah's blog, you realise how very sad and painful this loss is.
However they have decided to try and make sure that out of something so senseless comes something positive ; and so have set up a charity which is raising money to help fund new innovation and advancement within paediatrics over and above those provided by the health services.
This event is a challenge to me....due to the swim! I am a spaniel swimmer (breast stroke and head out of water), and hate water going up my nose! So the thought of a mass of people jumping in and swimming over, under, and beside me makes me feel ill! However since Dom did it last year, and we are so keen to help our friends raise money for their charity and remember their little boy....after a few glasses of wine I signed up!
Thanks so much for donating xx
