Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving Page.
Staff and volunteers of Hartlepool Mind are attempting the National 3 Peaks Challenge; that's Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon in 24 hours!!
We are aiming to raise awareness about the severe cuts in funding we have endured over the past few months, resulting in our vital service being pared down to the bare bones...and hope to raise some money too!
Most of the staff taking part in the challenge have been affected by the cuts, some having to work part time and some losing their jobs, but we are still funding this 'expedition' ourselves...none of your donations will be used to pay for our challenge.
Hartlepool Mind saw in excess of 1500 people last year, with problems ranging from anxiety to psychosis, addictions to depression. We offered a service to everyone who came through our doors and gave a lifeline to many people who would otherwise have 'fallen through the net'. As long as the person lives in Hartlepool, we try our very best to help them. We also provide training to professionals and work closely with other agencies in this great town.
The funds raised from the donations given through this site will go a long way to ensuring our high level of service continue and that those struggling or in distress have somewhere to turn to for support...
Thank you very very much.
Well we did it...
It was the most painful, difficult and challenging thing I've ever done. Physically and mentally draining; demanding beyond my wildest imaginings...but strangely satisfying at the same time. A great group of people, it would have been impossible for me to get anywhere near the finishing line without their support and encouragement. I'll never forget the intense feeling of wanting to crawl under a rock and cry on the way up Snowdon in the driving rain. Or the sheer relief at getting back to the van and changed into dry clothes and flipflops.
Thank you all for your generous support...
