Story

Helloo and thanks for visiting our JustGiving page!

We (Hasan, Ali and Mo) are participating in a 54-mile challenge to cycle from London to Brighton to raise money for a charity that come rain or shine, sets up a weekly food drive in the heart of London in Charing Cross, for the homeless.

In a time where inequality is rife, injustice prevalent and any form of fairness rare, the responsibility lies on us to do our small little bit to help those who are less fortunate than us. WiH has not only come to their aid on a materialistic front providing food, clothes, haircuts even, but more importantly has helped them emotionally bringing back a sense of humanity. We have personally witnessed and participated in these weekly initiatives allowing us to see first-hand the awesome work WiH do.

Over 8,000 people in London go to sleep not knowing where they'll be sleeping the following night. Many of us habitually think 'it's their fault they're homeless, they should just find a job and just sort themselves out', but instead of painting them all with the same brush, we discovered that it is a lot more complicated than that. Either they've lost their job and cannot afford housing or they've left prison and have no where to go. Either they are women who have escaped a violent relationship or they've suddenly developed a physical or mental health problem. WiH aims to get them back on their feet and back into employment with CV and interview workshops, health and hygiene check-ups, all alongside the weekly food drive event to meet their daily demands.

We together can wholeheartedly say that any donation made to this cause will be utilised for the betterment of these people's lives.

Oh yeah and we're doing a 54-mile bike ride to Brighton... in just over a month... with our awful fitness. Wish us luck... we will be needing it!

(All proceeds raised by World Federation for this L2B bike ride will go to WiH)
