Hatters Hike to Hyde 2015 · 28 March 2015

Kidscan, the children's cancer research charity, is working to promote and support research into the causes, prevention, treatment and cure of cancers in children. No other charity researches into specifically children’s cancers which makes their work both unique and vital.

Story

I am a founder member of an online Stockport County Fans Forum called "County Heaven".

In 2013, we became aware of a children's cancer charity called "Kidscan" who are based in Salford. We were so impressed by the work they do trying to fund and research cures for childhood cancer, that we walked from Edgeley Park to Moss Rose (13 and-a-bit miles) prior to the match between our beloved Stockport County and Macclesfield Town.

18 walkers (and a dog) took part and, unbelievably, we raised more than £1,800 in the process.

It's time to do it again. On Saturday 28th March 2015 (as luck would have it, exactly two years on) we will be walking from Edgeley Park to Ewen Fields, the home of Hyde FC, prior to County's away fixture there.

Since it's somewhat shorter a distance (6.3 miles), it seemed only right that, following the match, we walk back again!

Please dig deep and contribute. 25% of children who are diagnosed with cancer won't see their 30th birthday. We can change that.

If you would like to contact me seperately to either offer support or if you fancy joining us (everyone welcome, especially any Hyde fans that would like to come along) please e-mail me at greghall80@hotmail.com. Thank you everyone
