If you were fortunate enough to have known or met our Grandad Dougie Willson, you would understand the loss we are experiencing. He wasn't only a beloved Husband, Dad, Grandad, Great-Grandad and a good friend, he was a "true Dartford Legend".
We are celebrating his life on Friday 10th February 2017 at 10am, held at Gravesend Crematorium thereafter, Dartford Football Club. Rather than flowers the family wish for donations for the Race for Dementia Charity that puts 100% of the raised funds into research for Dementia.
During Dougie's last few years he suffered with both Dementia and Alzheimer even though this did not stop him from still talking about football or having a random outburst of a favorite song. On Friday 13th January 2017 the powers above saw his tired face, and put his arms around him and lifted him to rest. It broke our hearts to lose him but he didn't go alone, for part of us went with him, the day he was taken home.
