Story
For those of you who don't know me this may not seem like much of a challenge, but those who do know me will know that running does not come naturally to me. I decided to do the Bupa Great Birmingham Run in memory of my Aunty Karen who at the age of 40 sadly lost her battle with cancer. Her detirmination, strength and love for the life that she had has been a great inspiration to me. I qualified as a Therapy Radiographer in 2012 and work along side an amazing team of people who help treat and care for people who have cancer.
Cancer is a difficult illness for anyone to deal with but for a child and their family I can only begin to imagine how scary it must be. I have asked for my donations to go to the Oncology Unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital in the hope that it can make the journey through treatment that little bit easier for anyone going through it.
I have no doubt that this run is going to be difficult and the training for it even more so, but if the money raised makes the difference to just one child even if only to put a smile on their face then it will all be worth it.
