Leeds RAG Bike to Berlin 2012-2013 (LOST) · 18 March 2013 to 25 March 2013 ·

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

On 18th March I will be cycling around 70-80 (sometimes even 90, eek!) miles a day from Leeds, down to Hull where we will be catching a ferry to Rotterdam, through the Netherlands then on into Germany, arriving at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on 25th March. This is a mammoth challenge for me as I have barely ridden a bike in my whole life.

The trip is with Leeds RAG to raise money for deafblind adults and children across the UK. The charity, Sense, gives help and advice to deafblind people and provides them with vital support in the community. To find out more about Sense visit www.sense.org.uk.

Personally, I am undertaking this for my Grandad, Albert Dumbill, who passed away a few months ago. Cycling was a huge part of his life and he loved riding way into old age. He was forever trying to get me to go out on my bike more and now I have an opportunity to do so in a big, big way.

Please donate if/whatever you can for the incredibly charity Sense.

Thanks for reading!
