Story

I'm going to be running in the Great Manchester 10K run for 42nd Street in May, as well as St.Ann's Hospice (please see my other fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/hayley-weatherilt1 for St. Ann's Hospice because justgiving wouldn't let me set one page up for both so I've had to set up two) so whichever charity you choose to give to is completely up to you. They are both great causes and I couldn't pick between the two so I'm going to run for both!

42nd Street is a charity that supports young people who have mental health and stress issues all across Manchester and Salford. They provide a number of services including counselling and support, group work, drop-ins, a helpline, activities, and also work with schools across Manchester and Salford.

I thought it was important to run for a mental health charity as many people suffer from mental illnesses (1 in 4), yet it is still seen as a "taboo" issue; there is still a stigma that is attached to having a mental health issue despite so many people suffering from them. The fact that 42nd street is a local charity that is working to destroy this so-called "taboo", as well as helping vulnerable young people is what made me want to raise money for them.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated and it will give 42nd Street the money they need to continue their brilliant work. Thank you!
