Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. Through the power of music, it breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation. The charity does this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of its work.

Story

Hello, and welcome to the team page for Heavy Metal Truants, the world's first heavy metal charity bicycle ride to Donington!

Back in 2012, Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood invited me on one of his now infamous charity cycle rides, this one through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains in some truly blistering heat. It was hard, but it was also genuinely one of the best, most fulfilling experiences of my life.

Little did I know, but Rod also had a proposition for me. 'So then, how are you getting up to Donington next year?' he asked. That was the birth of the Heavy Metal Truants, and the rest was history. With one incredibly successful ride under our belts we're dead-set on smashing last year's incredible result, and we need your help.

We are artists, agents, managers, labels, industry, and fans united by a love of heavy metal and a desire to raise money for kids who need in most, in the name of Nordoff Robbins, Childline, and Teenage Cancer Trust. Please donate generously, and stay metal.
