Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We lost Dad on Friday 1st April 2011 to pancreatic cancer. We did not realise how severe a disease pancreatic cancer was, with very few making it after a year.
Our Dad became ill just after christmas this year. Doctor's first thought it to be his gall bladder. An initial scan proved it to be his pancreas. After several tests during March it became clear that it may be cancer. He was admitted to hospital on Friday 25th March after he became engulfed with pain after a biopsy procedure. On Thursday 31st March it was confirmed that he did indeed have pancreatic cancer & that it had spread to his liver. We knew that if this was the case we would only have a few months left with our Father. We were looking to having him home by the end of the following week. So you can imagine the shock we all received when we received a call from the hospital the very next morning calling us in, as Dad had deterioated over night. We lost our wonderful Dad that very same night.
Research is needed into this devastating disease. Therefore we chose to have no flowers at Dad's funeral & ask for donations to Pancreatic cancer UK, so that it will mean that in the future Dad will have helped someone in one way or another.
Thank you for helping us to achieve this.
