September Update
I've made it to the end! It was tough, but I succeeded and am very happy (and a bit proud) about it! Thanks once again to all who supported me!
Ich hab es geschafft! Es war nicht leicht, aber ich bin die volle Distanz gelaufen und bin sehr glücklich (und ein bisschen stolz...)! Vielen Dank nochmal an alle, die mich unterstützt haben!

Well, the purpose of this page is easy to explain - I'll be doing something difficult and I hope that you feel like giving my favourite charity, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, a bit of money for it...
Das Prinzip dieser Seite ist leicht erklärt - ich werde etwas ziemlich Schwieriges machen und ich hoffe, dass Du dafür bereit bist, meiner Lieblings-NGO, der Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, ein bisschen Geld zu geben...
WDCS does excellent work and at the Convention on Migratory Species and ASCOBANS we really couldn't do without their expertise and dedication! Getting so much from them in my daily work I think it only fair if I help to give something back to them, to enable them to continue with their great work with full power!
Die WDCS macht wirklich tolle Arbeit und ehrlich gesagt hätten wir bei der Bonner Konvention und bei ASCOBANS ohne deren Fachwissen und Hilfe ein Problem... Da ich also so viel Unterstützung von der WDCS in meiner täglichen Arbeit erfahre, finde ich es nur fair, wenn ich versuche, ihnen ein bisschen "zurückzuzahlen", damit sie mit ihrer tollen Arbeit weitermachen können!

Was habe ich also vor zu machen?
I will do the Pod Plod 2010! It will be a real challenge for me to do the trek (42kms through hilly terrain in Scotland in 2 days is quite a lot for an office worker like me...), but besides supporting WDCS doing this has a number of excellent benefits: I have a reason to increase my level of fitness (never a bad idea), I can be in the great outdoors and walk (which I love!) and there's almost a guarantee to see dolphins (even better!). What more could one ask for?!
Ich werde am Pod Plod 2010 teilnehmen! Das wird eine ganz schöne Herausforderung für mich werden (42km durch schottisches Hügelland in nur 2 Tagen ist schon einiges für mich...), aber neben der Unterstützung für die WDCS, die ich dadurch hoffe zu bekommen, gibt es zahlreiche weitere Vorteile: ich habe Grund, etwas fitter zu werden (immer eine gute Idee), ich kann draussen in der Natur rumstapfen (was ich äußerst gerne tue!) und es ist fast sicher, dass ich Delphine zu sehen kriege (noch besser!). Scheint mir ziemlich perfekt!
