Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Aup Guys J,
I’m going to be raising money (£1450) for a charity called FutureSense Foundation, who supports communities in some of the poorest regions of the world. I will be travelling to Cambodia to help deprived children and try to make a huge difference. But please do not worry- your money will not be funding my travel expenses, it will be going towards resources and other projects. I will be volunteering to help those in need by teaching them and also building essential monuments such as libraries. Below is some extra information that you may want to read in order to get a better explanation of what I will be doing. I will also be completing fundraising events myself which I will keep you updated on. Please donate as much as you can as it will be HUGELY appreciated and Just Giving is a safe and easy way to donate!!! Thank you so much :D
FutureSense Foundation:
· Partner with over 100 non-profit organisations to support volunteer work across four continents.
· Our charity work targets education, child welfare and livelihoods as a means to address a range of development issues.
· Provides financial support for community development projects overseas
· Helps to improve education and relieve poverty
· Helping create sustainable and secure livelihoods, for example building classrooms or playareas out of recycable materials
· Addressing issues related to health and HIV/AIDS
· Promoting child welfare
· Empowering people living with disabilities
· Committed volunteers help to build infrastructure for schools and community centres, and can provide direct financial assistance through grants.
Cambodia:
· Cambodia allocates only around 9% of its annual budget into education to improve its quality, which leaves little funds for schools’ facilities maintenance and to provide proper teaching materials like computers and internet.
· There is also insufficient staff within the schools, with 58,000 teachers teaching 2,500,000 primary school pupils.
· Most Cambodian villages have a primary school but they are not complete and do not offer a full 1-6 grade curriculum (we will change this!).
