On Sunday 19th October 2014, I will be running a 10K in aid of the Sheffield Children´s Hospital - ´build a bedroom appeal´

Many of you are aware that my daughter Amelia´s life was saved by the remarkable doctors and nurses at Sheffield Children´s Hospital when she was only 5 weeks old.  Having a child that has suffered a cardiac arrest makes you realise how precious life is and how we take it for granted.

The Hospital is undergoing a 10 million pound extension to provide new facilities and equipment to help children have a brighter future and the best possible chance in life.

We are lucky that this country has wonderful facilities like the Children's hospital, however, these organisations only survive through the generosity of the public. Guaranteed without them, my daughter would not be waiting for me at the finish line!
