Story

Back in November I had a crazy idea of trying to do something big for charity in 2014. With this in mind I contacted a good friend of mine. I told her I wanted to do at least one race a month all year long.
My friend Suzanne had been battling cancer for a while, and she had been doing so with such dignity, good humour and positivity that I really wanted to do something for her. She nominated the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and told me about them, about how most cancer specialists in the UK train there, and how they are at the forefront of cancer research. She also told me that she loved seeing all my statuses about training and that it made her want to get up and carry on in the mornings, she told me I was an inspiration to her.
Unfortunately in March I had the devastating news that my beautiful friend lost her battle, and had passed away. She was one of the smartest, nicest, kindest people I have ever known. She had a smile that would light up a room and an infectious laugh. She remains my absolute hero for the way she has faced all the challenges thrown at her with such grace. In the words of another inspirational person I know, she was a radiator - she radiated good things all the time, and the world is a little bit darker without her in it.
I am so determined now to complete all my challenges, even if I have to crawl I will do it (Spartan beast, that means you!) I want to raise as much money as I possibly can for the charity my friend chose for me, to help stop cancer, to help stop another family from losing someone they love, and to help stop another group of friends from feeling wretched.

I am completing at least one (sometimes more) challenges every month this year - and I'm a girl who used to struggle to run up some stairs!

Thank you for reading and your continued support and good wishes. I will miss my friend every day, but hopefully at least doing this I might help to make a difference. Thank you xxxx
