As many of you will know, we are running the London Marathon on 25th April 2010 in aid of MEDICS. For those of you not familiar with this charity, it was founded in 1978 by Dr John Eaton, a local GP to the mid-essex community. Its aim is to provide the best possible medical treatment at the scene of serious accident and emergency situations. Local GP's donate their time and expertise to respond when Essex Ambulance notify them of a situation in their vicinity. This is an important and valuable service for our local community and we are pleased to add our fundraising efforts to its continued success.

Why the marathon? Well, it is a long held ambition for both of us to run a marathon and where better than London to complete our first and likely last!!. We met each other at the Saffron Walden branch of the Women's Running Network. A happy, interesting and funny group of women all intent on improving our running, ably led by our noble, generous and inspiring leaders, Julie and Clare! 

We are committed to the following: raising as much as possible for MEDICS, training hard so we don't completely embarrass ourselves, having as much fun as we possibly can fundraising and running in utter rubbish weather, crossing that finish line on 25th April 2010 with wide grins and the glow of satisfaction (and likely perspiration!) on our faces.
