Story
Helen passed away at Bolton Hospice at 6.30am on Sunday 23rd May 2010 after battling breast cancer for just over 4 years.
Helen chose to be looked after at Bolton Hospice in her final days. We are now so grateful that this was possible and want to continue to make it possible for other people in the future. On Thursday night, the last time that she was really able to communicate, she said that she was "happy, unafraid and peaceful" and this was due in no small part to the professionalism, love and sensitivity showed by all the Hospice staff. 1 John 4:19 says "perfect love casts out fear" and through the Hospice, we saw these words worked out in practice.
We are asking for flowers for Helen's funeral from immediate family only and that donations are made in lieu of flowers towards Bolton Hospice which has to raise two-thirds of its running costs by donations. Giving online avoids the hassle of having to find cheque books, pens, envelopes and addresses and allows the Hospice to reclaim the tax paid if you are a taxpayer.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
