Incredibly, more children die under the age of five from water pollution than anything else in the world. Polluted water causes diseases such as dysentery, cholera and diarrhoea. Just a Drop raises money to build wells, hand pumps and health and sanitation programmes in order to give children and their families access to clean water close to their homes. It also assists with disaster relief when the most basic human need is clean water.

My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On October 11th I will be running the (world famous) Leicester Marathon. This is your one and only chance to sponsor me for running a marathon as I don't intend to put myself through this again!!

Throughout all the training in the past months I've been drinking lots and lots of water. A recent trip to India made me realise how much we take having safe drinking water for granted so in order to give some purpose to this run I have decided to also raise money so that others can have easy access to safe water.

Just a Drop raises money to build wells, install hand pumps and carry out health and sanitation programmes to give them and their families clean, accessible water.

This means children are well enough to go to school, mothers needn’t trek miles in search for clean water, and fathers are healthy enough to work. The cycle of sickness and poverty is broken and the future is immediately brighter.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
