Story

Right guys,

So im doing an abseil down the Spinnaker tower in portsmouth. For all you northerners that have probably never heard of it its flipping high about 170m, so thats one reason you should donate to me. The other is because im doing it for ALERT, come on guys you know who they are, its the charity in Africa, the one that helps the lions, the one that I have just come back from doing, the really awesome one..... right cheers, now the penny has dropped!!!

Oh by the way this will be occuring on the 30th july.

This is why ALERT is great and you should donate money....

African lion populations have shown an 80 – 90% decline in the numbers in the last 30 or so years, I think you would argee its quite an alarming rate. If this continues there is quite the possiblity that lions will disappear with our life times. Lion Encounter is an active conservation project that is passionate about saving this magnificent species. It is also Africa’s first genuine program to ethically re-introduce the offspring of captive-bred African lions back into the wild.

I spent 2 months working with the lions and this project, the staff work tirelessly to try and save the species and don't get enough recognition for their work. Although these lions are captive bred the program will reintroduce lions cubs into the wild, a truly unique project.

Although the lions are captive bred they act pretty much the same as wild lions, they sleep (alot), they eat (alot), they play (not as much) and hunt (when they fancy it). The cubs in the program have successfully made kills and the Dambwa release pride are proving they capable of killing their own food and pretty much looking after themselves.

So why you may ask do I need you to donate when they are so awesome. Well being awesome costs money. ALERT needs every penny they have, lets face it saving the worlds lion populations is a very expensive and difficult job, but with their dedication and a bit of your money, realistically it can be achevied!

Thanks alot guys, the Lions will appreciate it I know that for a fact!!!!
