I will be running (hopefully) my first half marathon for the charity GRACE  which  was established in 2005 by two leading surgeons and a Professor of Oncology to undertake research into the gynaecological cancers and their treatments.

Research into the causes, early diagnosis and treatment of these cancers is a seriously neglected area of medicine. The main gynaecological cancers are cancer of the ovary, uterus (endometrium), cervix, vulva and vagina.

The charity is keen to raise awareness of the symptoms of these cancers so patients seek help at an early stage. Cancer treatment is much more successful for early stage disease.
