Story

I did it!! Thank you to all those who have offered their support over the last few months both financially and with their time on fundraising events. Lucinda, Simon and I really appreciate it and knowing that I was raising money for GRACE really helped me complete the 26.2 miles.

Since Sunday people have been asking 'How did it go?' That has been a surprising difficult question to answer as there are so many different ways to describe the experience. I loved it, I hated it, I was nervous, I was excited, it hurt, it was fun.....Every minute also brought with it a different thought; I can do this, no I can't, I am going to walk, I am going to catch a tube....!! My family were there to support me and cheered me on at mile 13, 19 and 25.

I am very proud that I finished. I was a little disappointed with my time at 5.07 but pleased that I ran the whole way without stopping.

Will I do it again? Never!! Ask me in a few weeks :-)

We havent yet raised our target of £2,000 but it isnt too late if you would like to make a donation. Below is some information about GRACE:

Simon, Lucinda's husband and my brother-in-law, set up GRACE to support research and clinical services for women with gynocolgical cancers in 2005. This is a charity close to our hearts as it supports all women regardless of age and background.

GRACE is a small charity with low overheads and the money raised will support research at the University of Surrey. Current projects supported by GRACE include research into new prognositic markers in ovarian cancer, resistance to chemotherapy and novel therapies including robotic surgery and image guided radio therapy for cervical and uterine cancers.
