I’m running Leeds Half Marathon on 12 May and have joined “Team Tom” to fundraise after my friend Jo lost her son suddenly. Tom was only 17 when he collapsed and died in September. In Tom’s memory, the team is aiming to raise £5k to be shared between two charities - Martin House Hospice, who looked after Tom following his passing and organ donation, and continue to offer his family bereavement counselling, and the RNLI, which would have been Tom’s charity of choice.

Martin House supports children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across West, North and East Yorkshire. Our vision is that every child and young person has access to palliative care when and where they need it.
