We are taking part in Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and hope to raise as much as we can for the Charity Unicef, they are the world's largest procurer of vaccines for global immunisation programmes, protecting millions of children every year from diseases including measles, tetanus, polio and meningitis.

Sadly we lost our granddaughter Mariah in 2009 when she was 13 months old to meningitis. Losing a child is a parents worst nightmare and you never think it will happen to you.  We never expected to lose a grandchild. Not a day goes by that Mariah is in our thoughts she would have been 6 years old now and at school, but her life was cut short by Meningitis. She was a happy beautiful baby and did not show any signs or causes for concern before she died. She was living with us along with her mum Jodie and Dad Si. She had been off her food the day she died and had a slight temperature, but still her happy self. We thought she was teething. Sadly she died in her sleep which was such a shock. At first we thought it was a cot death but soon found out it was due to Meningitis. Since her death we have become an ambassador's for Meningitis Now raising awareness and money to stop others going through what we went through.

Thank you for your donation
