Please help me raise money for the MicroLoan Foundation, which is an amazing charity supporting women in sub-Saharan Africa by giving them the means to work their way out of poverty. MicroLoan takes a different approach to charity by providing microfinance loans, business training and ongoing mentoring support to women who live in absolute poverty. This enables them to develop self-sustainable livelihoods, feed, clothe and educate their families, and work their way out of the poverty trap. The charity's work is self-sustaining so every single donation is recycled endlessly to help more and more women every year - and the more MicroLoan can raise the more women it can help.
The Foundation now has 20 offices in Malawi and has made microloans to over 16,000 women this year alone. It has one office in Zambia and is preparing to establish offices in Namibia and Mozambique. It costs £100,000 to establish a new office that after a two year start-up period can help 1,000 women per year indefinitely in a self-sustainable way.
It takes just £30 to make a huge difference to one woman and her family's livelihoods, please help me raise as much money and help as many women entrepreneurs as possible! Check out MicroLoan's work in action at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbbEN9tM1p8
Thanks!
Helen
