Until last year I had never really directly been affected by cancer, but one sunny October afternoon my mum broke the news to me that she had been diagnosed with kidney cancer. The Cancer was aggressive, it took over her very quickly and less than 10 weeks after being diagnosed she passed away on the 1st January this year.

My mum was my best friend and it was heart breaking to watch her fade away, but the help and support provided by George Thomas to both my mum and our family was fantastic. How the staff at George Thomas have the strength and constant compassion needed to carry out their job every day is truly commendable.

The furthest I have run for charity previously has been the 5k race for life so this is quite a step up, but i know every penny raised is going to support a great charity. So with that in mind, let the training begin. Wish me luck! x
