Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 10 June 2010, myself and 10 other Ogilvy employees are off to southern Uganda to the village of Buikwe to help build a secondary school for 450 local village children. This is part of the 5 year Many Ogilvy Hands project where Ogilvy have teamed up with the established charity, Needs International to help a community in one of the poorest African countries.

Previous trips have seen the foundations laid and the first 4 classrooms of the school built. Our job will be to continue the hard work and finish a further 4 classrooms. This will be no holiday and will involve getting my hands dirty in all weathers - it rains a lot there too! Although much has been done already it is really just the beginning. Many Ogilvy Hands plans to do much, much more. For example, they are looking to build an orphanage, fund new farm machinery and bore a well, all of which will transform their community. For more information on this check out the website www.manyogilvyhands.com

To fund all this we need to raise as much money and awareness as possible. This money will help pay for the bricks, cement, tiles, plumbing, glass, furniture and everything else that is needed to build the school. It would also help to pay for books, stationary and the salaries of professional local builders who not only work 6 days a week in the heat, but will no doubt need to fix our shoddy workmanship!

This is an incredible project that will drastically change the lives of all who live in Buikwe. I would therefore be hugely appreciative of anything you can spare to donate for this incredibly worthwhile cause.

After the success of my Bupa 10K run in London on Monday 31 May, I am looking to do another 10K run later on this summer and will this time be doing it for the Many Ogilvy Hands charity... I will update you on this when I have decided which one to enter but the target will be to complete it in under an hour!

Thanks a million for your donations and support.

Helen x
