My story

( this is my update : Hi, Good News. At the end of February Gaby was offered an extra day working at Blanning. This is a day centre, run by The Family Care Trust, for the elderly. Gaby completed her first day their this week and i can report that it was very successful. The Carers at Blanning all loved her and gave glowing reports back to the farm. Well Done Gaby.

Gaby is continuing to thrive at the farm and each week her confidence and self esteem grows. We are so proud of Gaby and so grateful to Newlands for the opportunies.

Gaby is enjoying two mornings at the on site college where she gets help with maths, english and IT. Her afternoons are spent either helping with the animals, horticulture or out in the community gardens. She is so happy. And as we all know,  when we are happy we smile and Gaby never stops smiling these days.

Thank you everyone for your support . )

Please continue reading for further details on how you can help and why your help is so important to us.

Hi, My name is Helen and I have a Seventeen year old daughter with global learning difficulties. These include Autism, Severe Dyscalculia and  Severe Dyspraxia. Her learning difficulties range between severe and moderate.

Sadly Gaby had to leave school at 16 with no prospects and no where to go. The school she had attended for 12 years suddenly decided it couldnt meet her needs. They suggested trying a main stream college. ( A special school couldnt meet her needs so how would a main stream college accomodate her and her needs?) She was being set up to fail.

Gabys dream is to be at Newlands Bishop Farm ( run by the Family Care Trust).

She has been very lucky so far to have a two day placement. This however is not funded by the government or our local council. The Farm have given her a place as a good will gesture but worryingly this place can been taken from her at any time if the charity does not continue to recieve donations.

Family and friends are rallying round to support us with sponsorship for Gaby so that we can top up the charities funds and keep this place for Gaby.

You can see the information on the farm and the wonderful work they do to support vulnerable special people on their website: www.familycaretrust.co.uk/thefarm.html

If Gaby loses this placement it will be the end of her dreams. She didnt ask to have additional needs. She did nothing wrong in her life. But because of Government cut backs and an uncaring local council she could be left with absolutely nothing.

She Doesnt Deserve All This Uncertainty.

She Deserves a Bright, Happy and Fulfilling Future

Gaby absolutely loves the farm and everyone there. Please help us to keep her where she is happy.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has kindly donated to Gaby's Dream without your support the the story could be so different

Your kindness and generosity  means so much and proves that people really do care.

Thank you
