We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

Last year I took part in this event and ran 8 miles in support of bowel cancer UK in honour of my best friend Tracy Kaye.

Tracy was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in 2017 at the age of 40. Symptoms had been missed for months. It was diagnosed following a routine smear test. Rogue cells had already spread to the uterus.

13 months later, chemo had stopped working and Tracy began receiving palliative care. On 7th November, I was honoured to be with her and her husband in her final moments. Tracy was an incredible lady and I can't put into words how much her friendship meant to me.

If raising money for Bowel cancer UK can help improve rates of early diagnosis and diagnosis in younger people, then I'll keep doing it.

Last year, the run raised £23000. This year, the 200 runners, organised by the fabulous Reg O'Reilly are aiming to raise even more.

Thank you for your support.
