STOP THIS HAPPENING TO SOMEONE ELSE
We want to do something for Francis. Francis would laugh a lot if he saw us (me, Nollie, Bella, Kitty and James* attempting to run a Marathon on two weeks notice, having thought Marathons were for lunatics. By doing this we are raising money for a vaccine to help prevent what happened to us, happening to someone else. The creation of this vaccine is achievable and will eradicate Bacterial Meningitis Septicaemia.

Meningitis UK funds lifesaving research to find a vaccine to eradicate all forms of meningitis. Sadly meningitis can be incredibly difficult to detect as the symptoms are similar to the common cold or flu, plus there are occasions when people show no, or few symptoms. Meningitis can affect anyone of any age. For these reasons we believe the only way to truly eradicate meningitis is through the development of a preventative vaccine, which is our sole focus. Scientists and co-researchers at Oxford University are making significant advances in their quest for this vaccine and are closer to finding a vaccine than ever before. With support in raising the 7 milliion pounds (3 million pounds has already been raised) required to achieve this aim we will be able to put a stop to the heartache and devastation that meningitis causes.
