We are using this page to accept donations to Cancer Research UK in memory of Helen Stevens.
We are running through this page a "guess the weight of the baby" as many of you know Chrischi Burch is pregnant and due on May 21st 2010. All we ask is for a MINIMUM donation of £2 with every weight that you choose to guess. A €50 food and drinks voucher for La Bocaina Restaurant will be given to the winner of the correct weight - if there is a tie i.e. two or more people pick the same weight, then there will be a draw from the correct names to choose the outright winner!
The weight must be put in grams and to the nearest 10g. Example: 3450g (Convert lbs to Kg)
Helen Stevens a well recognised face in Playa Blanca unfortunately lost her fight against cancer on 5th Feb 2010 aged only 25. A popular waitress in La Bocaina Restaurant in Playa Blanca Helen was always a welcome face there. But more often than that Helen would be recognised out in the town usually singing in the various bars on karaoke with her powerful but elegant singing voice and making everyone enjoy themselves with her infectious laugh. Originally only visiting the island for two weeks to visit her friends Paul & Nina Ecob at the restaurant like many she ended up staying for over two years.
The resort of Playa Blanca will sadly miss Helen and so the owners of La Bocaina restaurant and many local residents are putting together a charity evening to celebrate her life. A charity dinner, auction and raffle amongst other fundraising efforts are being organised for the 17th of April to raise money for her family's choice charity Cancer Research UK . The restaurant will be donating 50% of the ticket directly to the charity as well as the usage of the restaurant throughout the afternoon and evening for other fundraising efforts.
