Story
Thank you for visiting my page, and hello again to anyone who visited me last year.
Last September I bought myself a bike and cycled 130 miles across Ireland. Prior to this ride in the park, I hadn't 'cycled' since I was about 10. I still wouldn't call myself an enthusiast or even a fair weather cyclist. I'm simply just somebody who wants to continue to share the memories of Nanny Smithy, who had a 3 year struggle with Alzheimer's, in hope to make a small contribution to protecting the memories of our future.
6 months on, I've forgotten about the literal pain in my ass, which is my bike, and feel nothing but pride and excitement to step up my game and cycle 180 miles from London to Paris.
In recent years, Nanny Smithy wasn't able to share her own stories and memories as a result of her Alzheimer's. Last year I shared just a few of these. Many of you may have heard the story about when she nearly got arrested for 'stealing' apples from her 'own' apple tree, but there are plenty more available and I'd like to continue to share these with you.
Get in touch if you'd like another nanny special (story) and feel free to share any memories you have of people close to you.
