Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may know, my mum died in May 2010. For the last 6 weeks of her life she was in the Martlets Hospice. There was no way we could have coped without them. They were so supportive of my mum and our whole family. The last week my sister and I stayed at the hospice to be with her, and because of their support we were both able to be there in the end which was something Mum really wanted. The nurses there were amazing, so caring and helpful. All of them went out of their way to look after us, whether it was a hot chocolate before bed or helping us to understand what was happening; they were with us through every step. After their incredible kindness I wanted to do something to help raise money for them, as they get very little funding from the government, and this mixed with a possible moment of madness led me to apply to run the marathon. I have been running for a while but this is obviously a massive challenge and I’m hoping to get your support. I will be running the Brighton Marathon on the 10th April 2011 so please sponsor me for the Martlets Hospice and the remarkable work that they do.
