Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.

Story

A load of my pals and I are walking from London to Brighton in May 2013, completing 100km in 24 hours. Come on now, this isn't a poxy sponsored silence, it's 100 blinking kilometres! That's got to be worth sponsoring.

We're all doing it for different reasons, but I am supporting my chosen charity - Marie Curie Cancer Care - in memory of my uncle Philip Godfrey, who sadly passed away in April after a long and incredibly brave battle with cancer. In his final days he was cared for by a Marie Curie nurse in his own home. She was unbelievably lovely, and allowed Philip's loved ones to rest, sleep and spend time with him knowing that he was receiving the care he needed in the place he wished to die. Donating to Marie Curie helps fund more nurses like the lovely lady who made my uncle's final days that little bit easier, so please donate.

Thank you.

In return, my walking boots are going on and I suspect I will be slathering myself in Deep Heat at the end of this!
