Story
On 19 March, together with colleagues from Coutts, I will take on the Coniston 14 challenge to raise money for Sport Relief. This will involve running around Lake Coniston in the Lake District –a distance which I am reliably told is circa 14 miles and ‘undulating’ (i.e. hilly and painful).
Having a running style which is more ‘enthusiastic waddle’ than ‘graceful gazelle’ and a mere 5 weeks’ worth of training under my belt, this really is quite a challenge! Completing the 14 miles on the day will be the furthest I have ever knowingly run.
But determined to keep positive, I am very excited at the prospect of a guaranteed personal best and look forward to seeing the beautiful Lake District again.
Money raised for Sport Relief helps vulnerable people in the UK and in the world’s poorest countries. Among the many amazing things Sport Relief does, in the last two years, it has enabled over 189,000 children to attend school and get an education. This is approximately the same number of people living in Hammersmith and Fulham.
So please sponsor my enthusiastic waddle and give generously. Here’s to keeping the smile on!
