On 24 October I am going to take part in the Polar Circle Marathon, one of the toughest marathon races in the world. The race takes place through the arctic desert, with sections run on the polar ice cap, at temperatures around 15 degrees below freezing.

I will be raising funds for the British Red Cross, who are a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.  The Red Cross enables vulnerable people at home and overseas to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their own communities.

And when the crisis is over, the Red Cross help people recover and move on with their lives.
