Last summer the world witnessed one of the worst offensives on the Gaza Strip - the fourth in only 7 years - which left over 500 children dead and many more injured, homeless, traumatised, orphaned and scarred for life. This summer I am taking action to help those scars heal by cycling from Edingburgh to London as part of The Big Ride for Palestine, which aims to raise £50,000 for the Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA). 

MECA's projects in Gaza help to restore lives and build brighter futures by tending to the children's physical, mental and emotional needs through the provision of medical supplies, mobility aids, clean water, play and art groups as well as scholarships.

I am currently in training for the ride as I haven't cycled for over 10 years, which makes this a very exciting adventure and personal challenge for me. So far the support for my campaign has been great with people providing me with everything I need to be a safe cyclist.
