Thanks for taking the time to visit Jon and Andy Smith's JustGiving page.
So there's the Great North half Marathon 18th September 2011. Wouldn't it be good to enter? Wait a minute, there are runs all over the UK throughout the year and is it really that special? We know all charity events are special but how special?
Well the Girls and Guys of the Armed Forces are special and what thay have sacrificed for us and for people they have never met and nations they'd probably never heard of before makes this worth something a little more special. So we figured why not run the race and throw in the odd 666 miles on a road bike just for the hell of it
So here we are 3 of us booked in to run the Great North, but there is a twist. We cannot emulate the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces but we can make the Great North a little more worthy of their name.
What the hell, 2 of us Andy and Myself, are going to cycle up to Newcastle in the 2 days prior to the race. It will be 11 gruelling hours a day to cover the 330 miles needed.
All 3 of us, Andy, Martyn and Myself will run the half Marathon and then Andy and Myself will rest for a couple of hours before we set off for the 2 day 333 mile journey back home.
Martyn will look after us as support, cooking, feeding, dressing, massaging and nurse maiding us for the journey from Gosport to Newcastle and back. If we can show a fraction of their determination it will see us through and make this all worth while

Please, please give generously. We're putting our bodies through the mill for only 5 days. These Girls and Boys put the body and spirit on the line for a career. Let's show them we appreciate what they do for us.
