Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Bit of background information first.
I'm an AirCadet with 3 years experience in the corps and a corporal. As cadets we have the opportunity to enlist in the 4 day march in Holland called Vierdaagsen, Number 1 Welsh Wing has entered a team of cadets into the highest tier.
160K over 4 Days
Also 8 or so days after I've comleted that I will be walking 100 miles in 24 hours in Belgium with the same team. All i get out of it is blisters, a pineapple and a medal + certificate.
So i am not simply doing it for leisure i decided i want to do it for a good cause. That cause is Help For Heroes. This site is so if you can't donate to me directly, you can give straight to Help For Heroes under my event with your Card.
I felt that Help For Heroes was the charity that i needed to earn money for is because its only just been set up, and more importantly, Our troops that are getting injured out there are not known to the world. If you want to help an dismembered serviceman get back on his feet or provide just a little extra comfort for them while they recuperate please just click the Donate button now,
See Details below.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
How Help For Heroes Will Spend Your Money
We spend every penny possible on making grants that aim to provide practical, direct support for our wounded. The grants that we have made so far are outlined in the table below with further information about each grant available beneath the table.
Our current focus is for grants to create a series of regional Recovery Houses to be built across the UK and serve as the last stage of rehabilitation before a serviceman, or woman, returns to their unit or transits back into civilian life. Our current target for this is to raise £20 million by October 2010 and while the support has been amazing, there is still a way to go.
We do, of course, have running costs but for our first year we kept these so low that 98p from every £1 donated was available for grants and we aim to continue operating at a similar level.
So please dig deep and donate now.
