Princesses aren't quitters

Adidas Women's 5k Challenge · 11 September 2011 ·
My life used to be more about burlesque, but as you can see from the photo, this year 'bagladyesque' would be a more appropriate term. So, this haggard, knackered baglady will be attempting to crawl 5k.....
Why? Because Rett Syndrome research is hugely important to my family. My daughter is 12 and has the condition. Through everything this brave little warrior keeps on fighting and shows sheer determination in everything she does. Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK have one goal, to fund research into this devastating disorder. With overheads at the bare minimum (the charity is run by a fab group of very dedicated parents) rest assured that your (very kind) donation will be going to research and not to pay for an executive lunch ;-)
Rett Syndrome has been reversed in mice. Yes, really. Professor Adrian Bird accomplished this, the first disorder to be reversed in mice! There is hope! There are so many things which need exploring scientifically, but of course, they all cost money.
If you would like to read more about Rett Syndrome and the impact it has on families then please just have a Google. Please help my daughter and all the other amazing children and adults with Rett to fulfil their potential.
And if that hasn't touched you, then please consider making a donation on behalf of the swollen-ankled, worn out remnants of a woman in the photo who shall be half lopping along in a pair of flip flops as the London bag ladies pinched her trainers.....
Every penny really does count, so however small your donation, thank you for helping my little girl. It means more than you will ever know :-)
