Cerebral palsy is an umbrella term for a group of conditions cause by damage to a child's brain at or around the time of birth. A child can be affected in different ways, but the most common is a stiffness in the muscles that prevents them from moving in the way they want to. This can make ordinary activities like dressing themselves, walking to school or playing with friends difficult, sometimes impossible, to do.

This is where the Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy can help. The aim of the charity is to improve the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy so that they are healthy and active, and can participate in everyday life to the best of their ability.

The Bobath Centre helps hundreds of children every year to move more easily and to do things for themselves. They have some of the most experienced physio, occupational and speech & language therapists in the world and are able to make a difference to children’s lives - even those with severe and complex conditions.  They also work closely with parents and carers so that their child’s progress can continue at home.

By running in the adidas 5k women's challenge we will be being healthy and active and participating to the best of our ability and we will be raising money so that children with cerebral palsy are able to do the same.

Please support this great cause.
