Hilary was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002. We enjoyed the next 10 years doing the things we loved. In 2010 we started the Coast to Coast Walk made famous by Wainwright the celebrated Lake District fellwalker. We planned to complete the second half of the walk in 2012. Sadly Hilary's illness returned and this goal was not possible. Hilary made me promise to complete the walk and I intend to take her with me and to scatter some of her ashes in Robin Hood's Bay at the journey's end. Our chosen charity, the Garden House Hospice, does fantastic work for people at the most vulnerable time of their life. They looked after Hilary with love and care. I will forever be in their debt for looking after my girl.

They need to raise in excess of £1 million per annum to ensure that this tremendous work can continue.
